MOTOR Neurone Disease is a condition that takes everything from its sufferers but you can help give something back to those living with the insidious illness.
The 2017 Walk 2 D-Feet MND Toowoomba event will be held on Sunday, April 30 at the Botanic Gardens Queens Park, Toowoomba and will raise money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association of Queensland and its great work.
People can sign up online for the community fundraising event, which involves an enjoyable 2km walk through picturesque Queens Park followed by a BBQ and entertainment in the Botanic Gardens in what is a great way to spend a Sunday morning.
Motor Neurone Disease (MND) is a terminal condition that causes the nerve cell degeneration muscles that enable people to move, speak, breathe and swallow.
Symptoms are different for each person but sufferers can quickly lose the ability to perform basic, everyday tasks like walking, feeding themselves and getting out of bed.
Life expectancy from diagnosis averages 2-4 years and there are no survivors.
No one beats MND and there is no prevention or cure.
About 20,000 people Australia-wide have MND and many families in Toowoomba and on the Darling Downs have been affected by this devastating condition.
The Toowoomba community is encouraged to get behind the event, register and start raising money to help support those living with MND.”
The Walk 2 D-Feet MND Toowoomba will be held from 10am Sunday, April 30 at the Botanic Gardens Queens Park, Toowoomba. Registration is from 9am.
