Lower Plenty pulled off the most remarkable local footy grand final win you’re ever likely to see yesterday.
They were goalless to three quarter time but managed to snatch a win at the death, with Ben Paterson kicking the winning goal as the siren sounded.
Triple M’s Will & MJ were able to drag (a fairly refreshed) Paterson away from Lower’s Silly Sunday long enough for him to explain what the club are doing to celebrate.
“Last 24 hours have been pretty hectic,” Paterson said.
“We’re doing Silly Sunday right now and we’ll carry through to Mad Monday tomorrow.
“It’s good scenes down here at Lower Plenty.”
Asked if he had a message for his boss, he said he’s unlikely to be seen on site for a little while.
“Tell him I probably won’t be coming in until next week!”
Paterson also led the boys through the game and responded to rumours he kicked all the team’s goals on the day.
