Margaret Varcoe Has Reportedly Passed Away After An On-Field Collision On The Weekend

Margaret Varcoe has passed away after being badly injured in an incident in the Adelaide Football Women’s League on the weekend, Channel 7 has reported.

Varcoe, sister of Collingwood defender Travis and affectionately known as Maggie, accidentally collided with a team mate during the grand final against Mount Lofty.

The 27-year-old had been conscious when she left the field but collapsed in the changerooms and had to be taken to hospital.

She passed away in Royal Adelaide Hospital tonight surrounded by family.


Maggie Varcoe also played for North Adelaide in the SANFLW.
