Richmond midfielder Dion Prestia has been ruled out of the match against Geelong on Friday night with a rib injury.
Prestia copped a heavy bump from Travis Varcoe in the second quarter of the Tigers’ win over Collingwood on Saturday.
Prestia played out the game but won’t be risked against the Cats with a finals campaign around the corner for the Tigers.
“We’ll just give him the week and get him to a position where’s he’s more pain free and more likely next week (Round 21) against Gold Coast,” Richmond’s Physical Performance Manager Peter Burge told the club website.
In better news for Tigers fans, Burge said that Bachar Houli is likely to play in the VFL this week.
“We want to make sure now that after every high-intensity session his groin pain is consistently good. This week, we’re looking to play him some minutes, probably through the VFL . . . What we want out of that game is for him to pull up well, and then we’ll be in a better position next week, hopefully, to progress him back to the AFL level.”
