A restaurant in Perth has taken matters into its own hands to manage a seagull problem in the area.
Customers at Hillary's 3Sheets restaurant have been provided with water pistols to blast the birds away, this move coming as the seagull population exploded nearby.
Some 20 water guns were put out on Saturday, and the "desperate measure" appears to have paid off.
“Before, they'd wait until customers had finished and got up but now they're getting cheekier and cheekier,” owner Toby Evans said, reports 9 News.
“But the water pistols are working - they're learning they're not welcome here.”
Other methods have been tried, including decoys, a fake own and electronic booms, but it appears as though the water guns may be the answer.
It is understood that the Department of Parks and Wildlife has no plans in place for the seagull boom.
