Detectives have made an arrest over the sexual assault of a teenage boy at a Cardiff toilet block 12 years ago.
The 15 year old boy was attacked on the night of July 30, 2006, not long after he’d left a party.
A man's accused of forcing him into a cubicle and sexually and indecently assaulting him.
The boy eventually managed to push the man away and run from the toilet block.
Despite extensive inquiries, detectives were unable to identify the suspect.
However officers had a breakthrough this week - arresting a 58 year old man in Bathurst, following a DNA match.
He was charged with two counts of aggravated sexual assault – victim under 16 years and aggravated indecent assault – victim under 16 years.
He was refused bail and appeared at Lithgow Local Court yesterday, where he was remanded to reappear at Bathurst Local Court next Tuesday.
